Candi Dasa

History:
Previously, Candidasa is known as the Gulf of the will. However, since this area was opened to tourist attractions, the name Candidasa began to be used. There is no record / report regarding the background definitely Candidasa name. However, considered the selection of this name is associated with the story of "phallus" on the inside of the temple which is located in Candidasa hills.
Codex mentions that Candidasa Temple was built in the 12th century. There are "commemorative" contained in the temple which is believed as a symbol of Lord Shiva. In this shrine is said to be able to get the highest award or "heaven" by uttering ten letters called "Dasa Literacy" (Dasa means ten).
Another story says that the name Candidasa inspired by a statue near the phallus. The statue is the statue of Goddess Hariti surrounded by 10 children. It is believed that the blessings of Goddess Hariti provide prosperity and welfare to those who pray there.

Location:
Candidasa is located in the village Samuh-Bugbug, Karangasem district. About 65 km from Denpasar and 12 km from Amlapura.

Gunung Agung(Mount Agung)

Mount Gunung Agung, which is hallowed by the Hindu community in Bali where they have the belief that the gods on Mount Agung berstana.

Gunung Agung one that is still active volcano on the island of Bali, the last eruption occurred in 1963 which resulted in the destruction, especially in Karangasem regency. The mountain has a height of 3.014 meters, at the foot of the mountain there is Pura Besakih, the largest temple in Bali located. The adventurous can climb Mount Agung between July and October Moon.

Taman Ujung / Sukasada Park


Ujung Water Palace, which by local community called Park Soekasada Edge was built in 1919. However, this water palace complex inauguration conducted in 1912. Water palace constructed by the last king of Karangasem, I Gusti Bagus Jelantik, who reigned in Karangasem between 1909 and 1945. Park End was built to welcome and serve important guests and the kings of neighboring countries, as well as a place for kings and royal family.

Taman Ujung Sukasada Tumbu located in the village, Karangasem district-around 85 km from Ngurah Rai Airport or 5 miles from Amlapura.
